Catholic Awards and Programs

Girl Scouting is based on the Girl Scout Promise and Law, which include many principles and values that are common across religions. Because we understand that religious instruction is at the center of many families and communities, we invite Girl Scouts to take spiritual journeys via their faith’s religious recognitions. Girl Scouts is welcoming and inclusive to members of all faiths.

Catholic Girl Scouts in grades K-12 are invited to earn their Catholic religious awards. There are six awards:

My Promise, My Faith Pin Program

The My Promise, My Faith Pin is earned by girls who want to find out what their faith and Girl Scouting have in common, using the Girl Scout Law as a guide. There is a different pin for each year a Girl Scout earns the recognition. Girls can earn this pin once a year at each grade level. The color of the pin corresponds to Girl Scout grade level color. The American Saint Series honors men and women who led heroic lives of faith that have greatly influenced American Catholics. Their words, their deeds, and their devotion to prayer and the sacraments, inspire all American Catholics. Some of these men and women are canonized as “Saints” and are venerated by the Universal Church. Some are beatified as “Blessed” and are venerated by the Local Church. Some are honored as “Venerable” and, while on the way to becoming a “Saint”, may be venerated by Catholics.

The goal of each activity in this series is to share the lives of these great men and women so that young people might relate to what they have done and look to them as role models.
