Derby Self-Serve Woodworking Workshop
Are you new to the Girl Scouts of Cranford Derby Car Program? Come with a parent and ask questions, start your design, and if registered for the 2025 Cranford Girl Powered Derby, you can pick up your derby kit and get a quick cut to get your car started.
The cost for the workshop is $5 per girl. Registration will open in December.
How-To-Build Derby Workshop with Instruction
This is a hands-on Girl Scout Workshop for Ambassadors, Seniors, Cadettes, and Juniors. Girls will use tools to complete their derby cars under the supervision of licensed NJ Department Of Education woodshop teacher and carpenter, Christen McCafferty. Christen will be providing instruction on carpentry and building pinewood derby cars start to finish, excluding the paint/final decorations.
The cost for the workshop is $25 which includes all materials used during the program, including the derby car kit, the Cadette Woodworker badge or Junior Tinker Badge, and a honorarium to the instructor.
iFly STEM Career Exploration
Calling all Cranford Girl Scout Juniors and Cadettes - join us at iFly Indoor Skydiving in Edison to participate in this fun and exciting afternoon! You’ll learn about STEM concepts involved with flying in a vertical wind tunnel and skydiving while earning your STEM Career Exploration badge!
$56.50 per person, includes STEM Career Patch and a one-on-one flight with instructor! Registration and payment due by September 9th. Space is limited, register today!

Pedestrian Safety Meeting
Senior Troop 40194 is working on a project that would improve pedestrian safety in town. Some of their ideas are to install blinking lights at the busy intersections, creating signage for pedestrians, etc.
Members of the Township Pedestrian Safety Committee, Kathleen Prunty and Anthony Durant, are planning to attend the meeting.
Cranford Girl Scout Troops Juniors or older are invited to this meeting as this is an important topic in town.

Girl Scout Game Night
Calling all Girl Scouts of Cranford - you are invited to a fundraising board game night complete with a make-your-own board game station. Open to all troop levels.
All registered Girl Scouts will receive supplies to make a board game, a snack, and a fun patch. The cost is $9.00 per Scout and siblings are welcome for the same price. This is not a drop off event. Click here to register.

2024 Encampment
The Girl Scouts of Cranford will be heading to Camp Hoover this September for 2024 Encampment! Troop 40400 is excited to host this event for Service Unit 48 but needs help from other Cranford Girl Scout Troops. Please email cliebrich80@gmail.com to join an Encampment Committee (ie: welcome party, campfire, etc.). Can't wait to make this an awesome weekend full of fun memories!
Somerset Patriots Girl Scout Night

Your host, the founder of Girl Scouts Miss Juliette Gordon Low, will share all the wonderful things that our Cranford Girl Scouts experience throughout their scouting journey.
Learn all about Girl Scouts in Cranford, meet other young ladies with the same interests and hopefully find a new love in Girl Scouting. During our Tea Party, we will create Girl Scout SWAPS to give to one of your new friends as well as learn more about the first level of Girl Scouting, the Daisy.

Trolls It Takes Two Fun Day

Calling all Daisies and Brownies - join us when school is out for a Trolls It Takes Two Challenge. Girl Scouts and DreamWorks TROLLS BAND TOGETHER are teaming up to explore the Girl Scout Law in a whole new way: from a Troll’s-eye view!
$20 includes lunch, activities that complete the Trolls Challenge (patch purchased separately), a fun patch (included) and a MOVIE!! A day of fun hosted by Junior Troop 40779.

Cranford Memorial Day Parade
The Memorial Day Parade is coming up - if your troop wants to march in the parade please sign up here. We need four adults to lead every level and carry the flags representing our fallen soldiers. Girls who participate need to be in full Girl Scout Uniforms, no exceptions! We are also looking for at least 16 older girls and adults to hold the flags during the ceremony following the parade. Adults who participate need to wear either a patriotic shirt, a Girl Scout shirt, Girl Scout green or a Cranford shirt.

Cranford Relay for Life
Calling troops of all ages!
For 16 years, Cranford has hosted a Relay for Life, a walking event that raises funds for cancer research, education efforts, and critical services through the American Cancer Society.
The Cranford Relay For Life event is a community gathering where teams raise funds in the months leading up to the event. Cancer survivors are the celebrities of the event and walk the first lap to officially start the Relay. Each year, Cranford raises around $100,000.
Luminary Decorating
Relay for Life Luminary Decorating, $5.00 donation per bag to decorate.
The bags will be used at the Relay for Life of Cranford event on May 17th at Orange Avenue School. Come by, bring your family, decorate a bag and help Cranford continue to raise money for Relay for Life.
Bunny Basics 101
All Daisies and Brownies are invited to this adorable Cadette Silver Award Project presentation, "Bunny Basics 101: A Guide to Responsible Pet Rabbit Care." Some furry friends from Bun Voyage Rabbit Sanctuary will be joining, too!
The program is open to Daisies and Brownies and can be applied to badges ‘Responsible for What I Say and Do’ and ‘Pet Care’. This cadette designed her own fun patch as well!
If any troops are interested, she’s also happy to present at troop meetings. We hope your girls can hop on by!

Arbor Day Event
The newly-formed Cranford Township Shade Tree Commission would like 20 Girl Scouts to participate in an Arbor Day event in Hampton Park.
Girl Scouts will help pot bare-root trees that will be given to attendees. They will also help with planting two new trees, backfilling dirt, mulching and watering. Click here to register.

Scout Day at Jenkinson's Boardwalk
Jenkinson’s Boardwalk is very proud to host their first ever Scout Day!
In honor of Earth Day, scouts will be able to participate in a beach cleanup and earn a limited edition Jenkinson’s Boardwalk community service patch for their work! In addition to the patch, all scouts will receive a FREE 3-hour unlimited ride wristband to be used in the ride park that same day. Families of scouts will also be able to purchase a half-priced 3-hour unlimited ride wristband so that the whole family can partake in the fun!
The beach cleanup and check in starts at 11:00 am and the Jenkinson’s Ride Park will be open from 12:00pm to 7:00pm on that day.
Check-In, where scouts will receive their patch and wristbands, will be located at the Arnold Ave Beach Gate on the boardwalk. Scouts are free to walk the entire length of the beach as well. Supplies will be provided to all registered groups.
Families can purchase their half-priced wristbands at any of the ticket booths in the ride park between 12:00pm and 7:00pm on Scout Day.
