How to become a Volunteer

Girl Scouts of Cranford can’t function without each and every girl’s family volunteering in some capacity.

Whether you’re a parent, a grandparent, guardian or older sibling (female or male, who has passed the necessary screening process), your unique skills and experiences help make Girl Scouting a powerful leadership experience for girls.

Follow these steps to become a Girl Scouts of Cranford volunteer:

  1. Register through MYGS at www.gshnj.org. An adult membership is $25. Adults also have the option to purchase a lifetime membership for $400. Financial assistance is available for both youth and adult volunteer memberships. The Girl Scout membership year starts on October 1 and lasts until September 30 of the following year, but you can get started early by joining or renewing your membership in April each year.

  2. Complete the volunteer application and background forms online at MYGS.

  3. Girl Scouts Heart of NJ will send you email confirmation(s) after registration. Please forward those email(s) to the Girl Scouts of Cranford Registrar so you can be placed into Service Unit 48.
