Girl Scouts Awards

The Distinguished Girl Scout Service Award

This award has been established to honor Ambassador Girl Scouts in Girl Scouts of Cranford Service Unit 48 for their dedication to Girl Scouting. In order for an Ambassador to be eligible for this award you must meet all requirements during your high school years.


The Super Troop Award

The Super Troop Award Program is designed to promote membership and retention in Girl Scouting and to encourage leaders, families and girls to work in partnership to achieve well-balanced program activities, leadership opportunities, and community service.

All grade levels may participate in the Super Troop Award Program.

The program year begins October 1, 2023 and ends September 30, 2024. Deadline: October 15, 2024.


VFW Scout of the Year Award

The VFW’s Scout of the Year program provides members of the Girl Scouts to be recognized for their standout citizenship, patriotism and love of country. 

Before submitting your Scout of the Year application, please review the rules and eligibility requirements. Scouts should download and submit a completed VFW Scouting Scholarship form, resume of high school activities, scouting record, community service record and letters of recommendation to The Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 335, 479 South Avenue East, Cranford NJ 07016 no later than March 1.


The President’s Volunteer Service Award

The Girl Scouts of Cranford is now a certifying agency for the President’s Volunteer Service Award!

The President’s Volunteer Service Award is the premier volunteer awards program, encouraging United States citizens, or lawfully admitted permanent residents of the United States, to live a life of service. For girls and adult members who put in many hours of volunteer work, and would like tangible recognition of that achievement, you may qualify for the Presidential Volunteer Service Award. Your recognition inspires others to take positive action to change the world.


The DEA Red Ribbon Week Patch Program

The DEA Red Ribbon Patch Program is designed to provide Girl Scouts the opportunity to earn a patch from the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) by engaging in anti-drug activities in celebration of Red Ribbon Week. The purpose of the Patch Program is to empower young people to engage with their community through drug-free activities and strengthen their anti-drug beliefs.

The program runs from July 1 to November 30.
