Girl Scout Week Half-Day Hangout

Girl Scouts of Cranford’s First Annual Half-Day Hangout was a huge success! Over one hundred girls registered for the four hour event at the Community Center. The afternoon started with a pizza lunch, followed by three activity sessions. Girl Scouts were given a choice between yoga, bingo, creative writing, arts and crafts, and the chill-out room.

Yoga was led by Karen Gimour from Alluem Yoga and Kristen Mider, a Girl Scout mom. Bingo offered prizes of slime and was led by Senior Troop 40744. Creative writing was led by Cranford Librarian, Lauren Antolino. Bead-art keychains were made in arts and crafts, led by Girl Scout Leader, Liz Mazza. And the chill-out room was where girls could do homework, puzzles, read, play board games and color.

After the activity sessions were over, the girls were treated to a short movie and popcorn. At the end of the day, the girls went home with a special 2024 Girl Scout Week fun patch and a squishy.

We can’t wait to make this an annual event, kicking off every Girl Scout Week half-day Monday. There’s no better way to celebrate Girl Scouts than having fun together!
